Material: crushed limestone and granite
With a length of 33 km, the Koralmtunnel is the longest railway tunnel in Austria and therefore also requires a lot of earth movement.
MCI was responsible for transporting the excavated material to a distant landfill.
We used a wheel loader with a bucket volume of 8 cubic meter and an operating weight of 60 tons was used. Dumpers with a payload capacity of 65 tons and a total weight of over 100 tons were responsible for transporting the material.
The capacity of the machines was 1200 tons per hour and therefore wisely chosen to do justice to the material flow of the tunnel boring machine.
